Are there ANIC specimens of B.codrella which match this appearance? The B. codrella images on the ALA all have quite fuzzy markings with nothing like the definition shown in this specimen.
I note a search for B. codrella on Bold Systems 4 draws a blank- apparently not recognised or perhaps renamed? There are many Barea species listed there with images some of which look similar to this specimen.
Yes, you're right, it is different to our Barea codrella. It seems to be a good match for an unnamed species near Barea melanodelta for which ANIC has many ACT specimens. It has an expandable scale tuft at the base of the thorax, and B. codrella also has a scale tuft in that position.
