Definitely not Acacia covenyi, which has flower heads with only 5-8 flowers, and no mention in the description of the obvious mucros at the leaf tips. I will try to use the Wattle app to ID it. Do you have measurements of leaf length and width?
Hi Betty, Unfortunately I don't have measurements of the leaves. I used Terry Tame's "Acacias of south-east Australia" #182, p. 162 "phyllodes ... apex acute, usually with an oblique, curved mucro, mid-nerve distinct ,,,"
Different keys highlight different features. When I first saw this I thought of Acacia rubida such as https://canberra.naturemapr.org/Community/Sightings/Details/3406694. I think A. covenyi has more blue-green phyllodes.
It fits the description in Wattle quite well, with about the right number of flowers per head, and especially the reddish branchlets. http://worldwidewattle.com/imagegallery/image.php?p=0&l=r&id=23813&o=1
