I agree that this is a Psilosticha species, but how can one tell that it is Psilosticha absorpta rather than say P. mactaria?

Moths of Victoria on their accompanying disc provide two distinguishing criteria between the two (see file:'PsiloPhel. pdf'') : P. absorpta has 'fine lines' on the forewing cf to 'bold lines and dots' for P. mactaria; and a size difference P. absorpta has a wingspan of 20-25 mm whereas P. mactaria is given as: '30-35mm'.. I am reasonably confident based on those two criteria. The antennae are threadlike so would not be Phelotos cognata.

I'm tempted to think I can see the fuzz of pectinate antennae. If so, it might be the usually browner Didymoctenia exsuperata, or even an Ectropis.
