The suggested identification is a very variable species with many subspecies see: Wilson, Paul G. A taxonomic treatment of Chrysocephalum apiculatum and C. semipapposum (Asteraceae: Gnaphalieae). Nuytsia 27: 33–73 (2016).

I have seen some different forms near one another. Should I try to identify subspecies or just take them to be variable?
