No we haven't seen it before Suzi. Lucky I got these photos, as when I saw it I knew I had never seen one like it before, so I raced inside to grab the camera! I've been a bit slack getting my CNM sightings up to date but I saw this was important after Michael's other sighting. Do these butterflies have a host plant to look out for next season? Sandra

They breed on several different species of mistletoe - it's always worth checking mistletoe anyway because not only do the jezebels breed on it, but also awesome butterflies like the azures. If you find the Black Jezebels breeding at your place next season, please submit a record here, that would be very interesting!
