A suggestion:
When you point your camera downwards it may find the subject hard to focus on because the background is so prominent. In this case the ground is in focus but not the plant.
Try pointing the camera at an angle that brings the plant into focus, not the background.
It is hard to identify this plant from the photo, possibly Xerochrysum.
