Significant sighting

MichaelMulvaney noted:

19 Mar 2018

a nasty weed that has the potential to become widespread - a good one to keep an eye out for and eradicate while still possible

User's notes

I'm pretty sure they are Gorse but would appreciate confirmation. There was one larger plant > 30cm tall and 6 plants < 30cm. I cut and dabbed them all. In addition to the 16th March findings I discovered 2 tiny Gorse plants, 23rd March 2018.

Yes Waltraud - a good one to remove while you only have seven plants

PCS does regular surveys of Gorse including on Mt Majura at the Fair - I only learned that recently when I met the guy on his bike conducting the survey. I think he was around the area where I found the Gorse but must have overlooked it.
It would be great if PCS could share the records of (historic) Gorse sites so that we can watch out for it.

Speaking from personal experience, a very tough and prolific weed if it gets out of hand....
