Landed on tree trunk and ran up it rapidly (hence fuzzy pics) then departed before I could get a good look.

This is probably an early instar tettigoniid that is an ant mimic. There are several genera in the group Ephippithytae that are ant mimics see A guide to the katydids of Australia by Dave Rentz.
