It was getting dark when I saw it, so no sharp photos. Here's one that shows another side view of the head. I'll keep a lookout for skinks around our house. I could delete this one and post better shots when I get them.
It looks like a female swollen with eggs. Yes if you can get a photograph in more normal lighting would help. It will most likely will be in that same general location if you are lucky. I agree that the pale dots on tail are somewhat like guichenoti but the dorsal pattern is like delicata (ie no pale spots and no broad mid vertebral stripe). If the head also is noticeably browner (bronze) than body then it most likely is guichenoti.
