I thought the new name for Leontodon taraxacoides was L. saxatilis? That's what this looks like, not what used to be Hedypnois rhagadioloides.

You are far more familiar with the look of these things than I. I used a key, which is always iffy when half the things one needs for the key are not in a photo.

If you could do a closeup of the bracts forming the base of the flower. Rhagadioloides has a single row with coarse bristles, Saxatilis bracts are in two or more rows, and are hairless or with scattered simple hairs.

Just compared the side-on flower head photo with one of mine and it is definitely Leontodon saxatilis. So the thing that used to be Hedypnois is Leontodon now Betty?

Yes, Jackie, it is now Leontodon rhagadioloides, with no subspecies any more. When I blow up the current side on flower head I can see a second row of bracts. A senior’s moment calling it rhagadioloides I suppose.
Unfortunately in all the recent upgrades to The CNM platform my moderator status went west so I cannot confirm this sighting as Leontodon saxatilis yet.
