Could be any of half a dozen ACT species.eg Pteris tremula, one of the Hypolepis species, Calochlaena dubia or one or two others. Need closer image of the stipe (stalk) and the fronds (esp underneath)

Histiopteris incisa also used to grow in that immediate area (a very odd location for it)

Thanks David - yes this was the exact Histiopteris incisa spot. I wasn't able to get close enough to get a better image, but I'll try again sometime down the track. I would like to hope this is still the bat's wing fern as it was the only remaining plant up there, but conditions were very dry.

I can't give it a definite ID without a closer image. Certainly a possibility

I'll try to get a better shot as soon as I can...

Hi Aaron, I hope you are going to be very careful when you're dangling off that cliff to get a better shot. And Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year of course.

Thanks for the wishes Silke and all the same to you as well. Yeah I only go up the side part which is almost like a little stepped/track, it's pretty safe etc, I don't dare climb the rock face etc.
