interesting observation! I know that they are omnivorous eating flowers fruits and invertebrats but i didn't know about fungi. perhaps it found the colour attractive (they eat yellow flowers such as of Dandilion and Capeweed). Also I'm happy about records of any living Shingleback. At todays work party at The Fair we found another dead animal with the same injury (a hole at the vent) as all the other killed shinglebacks that we observe at the northwest slope of Mt Majura.
