Can smaller nettle trees be pulled out or is it better to return with chemicals?

I'll head to the area today or tomorrow to remove the Bridal Creeper Asparagus asparagoides which is a sigificant weed - needs to be totally destroyed and removed. I assume it occurs there because it was dumped with other garden waste (I observed garden waste dumping in that area for a number of years...).
