A picture with a lot of drama and ecology - the frog is most likely a spotted grass frog (Limnodynastes tasmaniensis). Brown snakes are good at getting their head down into very small holes in the ground and getting frogs out.

That's exactly what this snake was doing when we came across him - head down a small hole, out from which, in time, he pulled this frog. We all watched in awe.
