While there are some features of this moth which suggest strongly it may be a Buff Bark Moth, Gastrinodes bitaeniaria, to be that species the specimen would need to be somewhat foreshortened. In fact the specimen would need to be a Geometrid moth, and I'm not even sure on that score. Perhaps though, Christine you may have some other images of this moth?
Thanks. No, unfortunately I was only able to get this one. It kept flying out of reach. I was struck by its triangular shape when I saw it, and I'd say it was just over an inch in length. Sorry no more info or images.
