May I be as bold as to suggest Ectropis fractaria, Ringed Bark Moth? There are good images on the ALA, including two not so well-marked images by Donald Hobern, presumably local. Moths of Victoria, Vol 7 has a well marked image of this species, p. 31, and the accompanying CD i.e 2 /3 for this species shows identification marks A (red-brown inner margin of the forewing) and B (features of the variable hindwing spot) which distinguish it from E despicata, details which seem to be borne out in this specimen.
