I did not recognise this without yellow flowers or dying orange petals so I went and checked my nearest patch http://canberra.naturemapr.org/Community/Sightings/Details/3374880.

Hi. I confirmed the Oenothera stricta subsp. stricta suggestion, then I changed my mind and reversed it. I remembered a plant I had seen before but not recorded. I think this is the same plant, see:
