This species is considered threatened in NSW and any sighting in our region is of significance - road kills are a major threat to the species.
User's notes
Goanna was sighted (unfortunately dead on the side of the road, possibly from vehicle collision) in Greenleigh, Queanbeyan NSW near bushland that backs onto the Eastern Escarpment/Cuumbean Nature Reserve.

Thanks - unfortunately we've just been told by other residents in Greenleigh that a second one has been found dead in Lonergan Drive - about 1.5km from this one. I can provide the details once they've got back to me on exact location, photos etc.
