Microseris walteri is now on the ACT plant census. Photos of flowers cannot differentiate walteri from lanceolata. Michael M's rule of thumb is - walteri under about 700 m altitude, lanceolata over about 1000 m, and sp. in between.
After the difficulties yesterday, with sightings of Microseris walteri low on a mountain and Microseris sp. higher up on the same mountain, Michael M has changed the rule of thumb to Microseris walteri to up to about 1000 m altitude, and Microseris lanceolata above about 1000 m.
I thohght about asking for a batch, but decided that since I would prefer to look at every record individually anyway, it was probably not a good idea. Though looking takes a lot less time than making the change, especially using the abysmally slow ipad.
