Looks like some of Waltraud's great work and this colony is dieing off.

The leaf bases are wrong for Echium plantsgineum, which has cordste (like the heart in a playing card) bases.

This is the Paterson's Curse that I sprayed recently in the nature park area east Antill Street; it looks weird after treatment. A small patch of Echium vulgare occurs further northeast.
