COG Lyrebird Survey.
9 was the count of calling birds along the stretch of the track (Camelback Trail). Almost definitely different individuals as their locations from where they were calling was mapped out and 'triangulated' throughout the walk as part of the long-running COG Lyrebird Survey to ensure they weren't counted twice. One male was actually sighted crossing the track, and we observed it as it continued to forage for some time. Some excellent mimicry of species including Red Wattlebird, Pied Currawong, Crimson Rosella, and Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo.
The team that did the Lyrebird Trail also got 9 birds (some would have been the same as ours)
