This is the first record of this weed in the ACT. It is more common in coastal areas but could become a pest in the Canberra area - one to keep an eye out for

User's notes

Id confirmed as Calystegia silvatica by herbarium. An invasive vine from southern Europe. Found on lower Molonglo River at -35.303386 149.048194. Will be sprayed out as soon as possible.

Hi Parkie818. Thanks for this sighting. I have downloaded the original photo and edited out some details of the plant, then added the detailed pics back to the sighting. They will be used in the sample images for the species.
