This reserve consists of three areas of grassland that are adjacent to each other. They are the Old Cooma Common Grassland Reserve, the Cooma Rifle Range and Vacant Crown Land Reserve 85335.
had dismissed E cinerea based on it not being a local species, although we do have some introduced specimens in a reserve about 2km away. The introduced specimens have been slowly spreading (over more than 50 years) and will eventually be culled, but they have not been identified more than 500m away from the initial planting.
Don't know whether it helps or not, but the leaves taste a bit like rocket. The plants on Radio Hill were pretty much all beside the vehicle access track. They (or similar plants) seem to be fairly frequent in the Cooma area, along roadsides and as backyard weeds. I have assumed that some in my backyard are either from rocket or from Asian greens grown by neighbours. I removed one a few days ago that was in its second year, it had a long thin taproot.
It's great to see some sightings from these important grassland reserves. Actually, thanks for all your Cooma area sightings. They are appreciated in this important but under-reported area.
