on underside of dead branch lying on ground

Have you thought of Meiorganum (Pseudomerulius), fertile surface may comprise bright yellow to orange crinkly gills or folds. stipe very sort or absent. Attached to underside of decaying logs. Schizophyllum pink/grey in colour.

agree a bit sceptical about split gill, having only seen them on logs/branches in the air rather than rotting on the ground. found but did not photograph a very similar fungus underneath a decaying branch on the ground this morning, but it was white. specimen in photo could easily be Pseudomerulius curtisii
