what about the scale jac? Is this animal the size of a mouse, a rat, a rabbit or a wombat?

I added another view and some more pics for comparison. There's the feral pig and the possum. I'd say size between rat and rabbit

Hi jac, thanks, based on that I think it is a rodent. The possibilities at that location are Rattus rattus (introduced Black Rat or Roof Rat) in the first several places, then Rattus fuscipes (native bush Rat) a long way back, and finally Rattus norvegicus (introduced Brown Rat or Sewer Rat) but quite unlikely. So I put it down as R. rattus.

I had not seen your posts of the pig and the possum.

Thanks for all that Don. I only added the pig and possum pics after first content for size comparison as we already know what they are!
