Ooperipatus sp. Distinctive rough ventral patterning and the body contracts when resting, bringing all the legs close together. Probably O. costatus given location.

Thanks for the ID Dave. For future reference, Is it safe to say 15 pairs of legs always = Ooperipatus genus? If not is there a way we can identify them?

Yes, but all the local genera have 15 pairs so it's not a helpful diagnostic character.
