Significant sighting

MichaelMulvaney noted:

24 Apr 2022

Newly recorded and large population of this locally uncommon sedge

User's notes

large dense patch, several 10s square metres: older plants are a bit shorter, about 1 m tall, fruiting profusely; some plants closer to trail and affected by run-off from trail are taller (to 1.5 m), darker green and vegetative. This area was a swamp heath (e59) before being burned. There is more Baumea nearby on another stream, also a swamp heath (e59) before the fires but now a dense sedgeland.
