Hi @Birdy, I’m pretty sure this is not a Lycid beetle but rather a Lycid mimic Pseudolycus, possibly Pseudolycus rufipennis (see https://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:biodiversity.org.au:afd.taxon:4a29b0aa-f293-42de-ade7-7add79f66fdd#gallery ). They key difference is in the antennae they are feathered in Porrostoma but have flared segments in Pseudolycus. I had to look at dozens of Lycids before I found this.
A great find. Also the mouthparts lack the projecting labrum (prognathous) of the Oedermerid. Its amazing how most of the beetle mimics copy the net veins of the lycid elytra. The CNM list of lycid mimics grows.
