New recorded location of this threatened grasshopper - very interested in any sightings of this species at all as a recovery plan is being prepared for it at the moment

Grasshopper about 25mm, Kayacris?
Spotted 10:22am, clear sunny but cold morning after 0 degrees Celsius overnight, no wind present. Found in predominantly grassy area.

This is a highly significant find, if it is indeed K. scurra, as we now understand there are several closely related species in the genus. I will send your images to my colleagues currently working on the K. scurra for confirmation as it is now a declared threatened species. I have visited the Pomaderris reserve a couple of times and would like to know in which part of the reserve it was found and the vegetation there. This was a very lucky find, I've been looking for them for them for over 18 months and this is only the second time I have seen one.
I would like to say that I didn't pick this up, Grasshoppers are fragile and I would hate to harm one, especially a rare one, but I did invite it to move onto my fingers from the grass, which it did.
I hope the season to come sees some more sightings of this grasshopper around Canberra.
