Hi Sandra, clearly Myrmecia (which I'm sure you already knew) and most likely M. pilosula group (a Jack Jumper) but just doesn't look quite right, so I've left it at genus level for now. Did you notice it jumping about when you took the photos? Cheers, Jon
Hi Jon, the ant didn't jump at all. I noticed it while planting. It wasn't angry or particularly fussed by me being up close which is probably why it caught my eye. It looked a bit different to the other Myrmecia we have. Cheers, Sandra
