User's notes

Daviesia sp. possibly D. mimosoides ? This shrub had a pendulous habit making it look rather different from the Daviesia mimoisoides (common elsewhere in this Park, at fruiting stage) and was flowering.

In the specimens at the Australian National Herbarium, pea-flower expert Mike Crisp had named several specimens from Mt Ainslie as Daviesia leptophylla - Daviesia mimosoides, i.e neither exactly one or the other. There's no proper D. leptophylla herbarium specimens from there. I've noticed in the general area Daviesia mimosoides plants often have leaves approaching D. leptophylla, but you can usually find the broader D. mimosoides leaves also present. The habit of both is quite variable.

thanks. I did notice that Flora Vic described Daviesia leptophylla as "ascending" which this plant wasn't it. This plant was quite well-separated from the patches of Daviesia mimosoides. So, in terms of CNM, that makes it Daviesia sp. ?

I'll see if the CNM folk will allow it to be called Daviesia leptophylla - Daviesia mimosoides as that's a bit more informative than Daviesia sp.

I've been sent a link to approve or reject a new species "Daviesia leptophylla - Daviesia mimosoides" .
Thanks you for the courtesy, but I don't wish to either approve or reject, as this is beyond my expertise.
