There was an Australian pelican in the Molonglo River near the weir behind the equestrian centre. It was downstream from me but while I was photographing it the bird left the rock in the middle of the river to start swimming towards me. It did not swim rapidly towards me, it was in a more measured way. As it got closer to where I was it curved slightly out from my bank, but then turned slowly across from where I was before slowly swimming past me.
