1st record of Yellow Bellied Glider at this location and on CNM and first ACT record (at least that was put into the system) since 1995.
User's notes
Flew over our heads and we saw where it landed. Much harder to spot and smaller than the Greater Gliders we'd seen at lower altitude, very little eye shine (nothing like the bright eyeshine of the Greater Gliders), ear shape and overall colouring seems different. It landed on the far side of the trunk so unfortunately these are the best photos, though Liam M may have better pics. ID by Tyrie Starrs

Hi Michael. Yes I am. Ryu's description is spot on (could only have been bettered by hearing them calling) and the photo shows the ears are tall and lack the characteristic GG fringe due to being furred on the back as opposed to unfurred in YBG.

Before 2003 they were well known to be often seen at that very location (jcn of Bendora Rd and Warks Rd) so they should have been in the old Vert Atlas. Then the owl and mammal survey done by Mel Snape and Ben Stevenson et al found them (see Tech Reports) somewhere below Bendora but I dont know exactly where. Maybe its worth getting someone to go thru such survey reports to put the records in CNM?

Yes will chase up records - we added all Atlas records to CNM so not sure what happened
