Was the photo taken at the above orientation or was it originally horizontal?

The photo was taken mostly downward, the fungus was growing horizontally out of the side of a log.

Thanks Marthijn. Were you able to take any photos of the underside? If not I'm just wondering if it looked the same as the top or if there was any evidence of immature pores forming.

Hi Pam, I am not an expert at all, but from the ones that were more on top of the log (growing more upward) they seemed to look the same from all directions.

OK thanks for that Marthijn. It's interesting for me as I've not seen one quite like this before except for the Dacryopinax spathularia which is normally is broader at the top, or in this case the outer edge.

I would say they were ~ 5 to 10 mm. Sorry, I have to start including at least one photo with a size reference.
