There seem to be two different termites in this picture, with and without snout - why?

I understand that soldier termites have the snouts on their heads, unlike the worker termites they protect. The snouts are a defense mechanism to ward off predators. Additional information at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fontanellar_gun
