Size - body length 9mm; 100's of small white moth like insects in a nuptial flight over the water at Murrumbidgee River, north of Pine Island.

This appears to be a similar insect to one reported near Point Hut, see:

Certainly a caddisfly, but may not be the same species. In any case both can be identified for now as simply 'Trichoptera sp.'.

Family Hydropsychidae (larvae spin nets on the down stream side of rocks and stones and collect fine particulate matter on which they feed), probably genus Cheumatopsyche.
