One observes this quite a lot on Acacias, but I wonder how this specimen was distinguished from Uromycladium notabile? The literature indicates the differences between the species seem to be in the production of urediniospores and in the surface ornamentation of the teliospores.

Spore features are the sure way of separating the species. The literature notes the galls of notabile being up to 3cm or so in diameter, those of tepperianum to 15 or so. How many galls in the photo, bearing in mind that a gall can be of irregular shape? One or two large, or more small ones? I don't know.
